Diego Llona

Diego has over 14 years of experience in finance, fintech and telecom. He started his finance career in wealth management, going then to setup the FI trading desk at Banco Santander Peru. He then joined the ALM team of Peru’s largest bank (BCP) where his main responsibility was managing the banking book, comprised of CDs, Sovereign and Corporate Bonds, Repos and Hedging structures. Diego became Treasurer at BCP’s subsidiary Mibanco, one of Latin America’s largest microfinance banks, overseeing the bank’s funding strategy and execution as well as restructuring its trading desk. Diego then went on to co-found and direct ftb.pe, an FX and Payments Fintech. While on that venture he took on the role as CFO of Optical Networks, one of Peru’s largest fiber optics companies, with rotations through Operations and Customer Experience at Optical’s B2C business. 

Diego is a CFA charterholder and has a BSc in Economics from LSE. He lives in Lima, Peru with his wife and three kids.
